I do love a good salad, however, I rarely have recipes for them, but here are a few I make regularly for my family and friends. Enjoy!
I got the idea for this recipe on Pinterest, and saw the potential it had for a meal type salad, as I live up in Canada and I didn't have all the ingredients for the original recipe, I modified it to suit me and my family, also, I wanted to add flavor to the corn and beans, which if you try this recipe, you will see makes a lovely difference.
This salad is a crowd please, delicious hot or warm, does not contain mayo so it can stand the heat. The recipe can easily be doubled or tripled, and once you try Halloumi cheese, you will be a convert. Please try and let me know what you think.
Everyone loves a good pasta salad, however, I was never a fan of them, the mayo in them, and the same ole same ole, over the years, I have adapted them and make them so even my kids rave about them. I love using Orzo pasta, it is different and delicate, I always use cheese, and by adding the beans, it adds protein and becomes a great lunch box meal.
Not that her potato salad wasn't good, but it was the same salad for 40 years! I am never fond of salads with lots of mayo, and as such, I have found recipes and ways to go around that. This recipe is a sure bet, it has yellow beans and fresh peas from my garden, frozen peas work as well, and some shallots too (Yes, from my gardens). The dressing is tzatziki sauce, you can't go wrong with that. Try it, yum it and pin it!
